About Course

Course Code: INC06

Program: Inclusive Education, SEN & Learner Support

Course Overview: Stress, adversity, and difficult life experiences can affect learner behaviour, participation, emotional wellbeing, and academic success. Trauma-informed teaching helps educators respond with awareness, predictability, compassion, and appropriate professional boundaries.

This course equips educators to recognise signs of stress and dysregulation, create emotionally safe classrooms, support regulation and resilience, and respond calmly to behavioural challenges. It remains focused on education – not diagnosis or therapy – and includes collaboration, referral awareness, cultural sensitivity, and educator wellbeing.

  • Understand trauma-informed education principles
  • Recognise how stress and adversity affect learning and behaviour
  • Create emotionally safe and supportive learning environments
  • Apply compassionate and regulation-supportive teaching strategies
